Pastor Search Team Updates
July 31 Update:
On Sunday, July 30, First Baptist Church voted to call Tique Hamilton as our Pastor. Tique will begin his ministry as Pastor on September 1, 2023. His first Sunday Morning Message will be on September 10.
May 23 Update:
The Pastor Search Team continues to meet, pray, and discuss God's will in our church. We are receiving applications and will be beginning the interview process soon. We covet your prayers. If you know of a person that may be interested in our job, point them to our website, http://www.fbcsweetwater.org/senior-pastor-search.html, or to one of the members of the Pastor Search Team. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you and the Lord in this way. We are truly honored.
April 10 Update:
On April 10, the Pastor Search Team was commissioned being formed of First Baptist members: Mollie Brock, Darrell Doggett, Robert Eaker, Barbara King, Jeff Lay, Steven May, and Cathy Wilks.
February 28, 2023 Update:
On February 28, 2023, Pastor Jerry Hendrix transitioned from the Senior Pastor at First Baptist and became the Interim Pastor. Jerry served as Pastor for 8 years at First Baptist and continues to help the church as we search for a new Senior Pastor.
As a church, we continue to pray for the Pastor Search Team as they seek God's guidance for our next Pastor.
